Recognizing Staff and Students  with Disability at UoN

The University of Nairobi in collaboration with the National Council for Persons with Disability (NCPWD)  organized celebrations to mark the International Day of Persons with Disability (IDPD) on Wednesday 1st  to Friday 3rd December, 2021 from 8am to 4pm at the Great Court and Taifa Hall, Main Campus.

VUKA Employability Career Workshop Invitation

Learning by Doing in the Arava Desert

Fifty (50) students from the University of Nairobi departed for Israel on 31st of October and 1st November 2021. The students have been awarded an11 months training on Advanced Agriculture and Irrigation at the Arava International Centre for Agricultural Training (AICAT) in Israel where they are attached to work with farmers in Kibbutz and Moshav Jewish forms of settlement. The students are living in farms in the Arava region where they will be exposed to high technologies and the advanced agriculture in Israel.

Conversation on Mental Health Problems Students face

At the University of Nairobi’s Mental Health Awareness day celebrations held on Wednesday November 3, 2021, pertinent issues on mental health were discussed.

The day was marked in a bid to provide much needed insight given the upsurge in cases of illnesses such as depression, social anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and schizophrenia. It was important to debunk the stigma surrounding mental health issues in Kenya and provide information that would be integral in identifying early warning signs of mental health.

UNESCO 03 Plus Project - Recruitment of Student Champions

The University of Nairobi in collaboration with UNESCO is in the process of implementing the Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future (O3 Plus) project. The overall goal of the 03 plus project is to ensure that young people in higher and tertiary education institutions in the Eastern and Southern Africa realize positive health, education and gender equality outcomes through sustained reductions in new HIV infections, unintended pregnancy and gender based violence.
