The Kenya Red Cross UoN Chapter , a club within the University organized for blood drives 2019/2020 so that willing volunteers can donate blood that is useful in saving lives. The Club also conducted cleanup activities around Club 36 and at Kenyatta University Ruiru Campus gate area. The members of the Club also visited Lucky Dummers Estate, Tree House Children’s Home to empower the children through a talk, helped them cook food and wash clothes. This ensured the children feel loved and part of the society.
The Women Students’ Welfare Association (WOSWA), February 2021, left for Mombasa to sensitize the female students from Coastal region on the teenage pregnancies matters especially with the COVID 19 impact on girls. WOSWA being a body that is driven towards girl child empowerment ensured the act of tokenism mentality is replaced with economic empowered women.
University of Nairobi Geography Students Society during the World Wetlands Day Celebration February 2020 got involved seedling planting as a way to restore Enapuiyapui Swamp that serves that community. This not only served as a conservation activity but one that ensured the locals there felt embraced and loved.
