The University recognizes and awards top performing units

The University of Nairobi on Friday January 29, 2021 held a Performance Contracting Award Ceremony in Taifa Hall. The event was aimed at rewarding and celebrating the best performing Units and Departments for the period 2019 - 2020 as well as encourage those lagging behind in the spirit of excellence as the University celebrates the 50 years of existence.

Ferdinand Omanyala – Kenya’s fastest in the 100m race pays a courtesy call to the Dean of Students

The University of Nairobi community is celebrating one student, Ferdinand Omanyala who ran the 100 metres race in 10.11 seconds on Saturday Jan 23, 2021 at the Nyayo National Stadium. He clocked the fastest time in Kenya in the race in the second leg of Athletics Kenya Relays Series.

THE 2020 TRADE ECONOMIST AWARD BAGGED BY UoN STUDENT MAJUNE KRAIDO SOCRATES

Majune Kraido Socrates of the University of Nairobi has been selected as the winner of the 2020 Trade Economist Thematic Award, a new competition for specific research, which this year focused on how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected trade and trade policy. His paper, “The Effect of Lockdown Policies on International Trade Flows from Developing Countries: Event Study Evidence from Kenya” was praised by the Selection Committee for its methodology and analysis.

To All UoN French Students-In 2019-2020, the University of Nairobi and other Kenyan Universities sent 66 French Language Assistants to France to teach English in French High School for at least 7 months following the bilateral agreement between President Uhuru Kenyatta and President Emmanuel Macron of France when he visited Kenya in March 2019.
