Elimika and Wajibu Wetu youth programmes will be rebranded to Elimika Wajibika-Vijana Amkeni. The 2 youth programs implemented by UNESCO/UNITWIN Chair in the University of Nairobi will become one inclusive programme.

The 2019 student award ceremony was held at UON Taifa hall on May 10th 2019. In the 2015/2016 academic year, Singh Amitoj won the gold medal and in the 2016/2017 academic year Essajee Asya Abdulatif won the same award
Speaking during the launch the Vice Chancellor Prof Mbithi congratulated all the students for the outstanding performance and he also urged them to consider UON as their choice of furthering their studies. The VC also urged parent, staff members and stakeholders to join the list of awards sponsors.
The School of Dental Sciences held its Hippocratic Oath ceremony for the graduates of class 2017 on Friday 17th November 2017 at the School of Dental Sciences.
The oath was administered by Dr. Regina J. Mutave – Dean School of Dental Sciences, to the (20) Bachelor of Dental Surgery students who qualified for the award of Degree in Bachelor of Dental Surgery by the University of Nairobi.

The one day training for female students was organized by Women Students' Welfare Association (WOSWA) and was held at the Education Building, Main Campus on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Led by the WOSWA Chair, Mary Achien’g, who urged female students to focus on their careers.
