University of Nairobi Students Elect Rocha Madzao as New UNSA Chairperson

On the elections held on March 28th, University of Nairobi students elected Rocha Madzao as their new Students Association Chairperson. Rocha, a 4th Year BSc Civil & Structural Engineering student, is also the Chairman and Founder of the Elimisha Charity Campaign.

The election, which saw delegates from all University of Nairobi campuses participate, marks a significant moment for the student body. Rocha and his team will now lead the students' association for the upcoming year.

Strategic Plan for Disability Mainstreaming developed

After the recently established Disability Policy at UoN; the disability mainstreaming committee spearheaded a retreat as one of its implementation efforts. The objective of the retreat was to develop a strategic plan and visualize the milestones towards the establishment of a Disability Support Centre.

The 2-day retreat was held on October 20-21,2022 at the Kenya Institute of Special Education and developed a strategic plan for 2023-2028 for Disability Mainstreaming at UoN.

Changing the Narrative: End GBV among Students

The University of Nairobi in collaboration with UNESCO is in the process of implementing the Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future (O3 Plus) project. The overall goal of the 03 plus project is to ensure that young people in higher and tertiary education institutions in the Eastern and Southern Africa realize positive health, education and gender equality outcomes through sustained reductions in new HIV infections, unintended pregnancy and gender based violence.

UoN Students Scale the heights of Mt. Kenya for the health and well-being of the Youth

Nairobi, Kenya, 28 May 2022 — Nine Kenyan students, four ladies and five gentlemen, are preparing for a new challenge: to scale the heights of Mount Kenya . To prepare for this challenge, they are climbing today the stratovolcano Mount Longonot. This initiative is part of the Our Rights, Our Lives, Our, Our Future (O3 Plus) Programme that was launched at University of Nairobi and at Mount Kenya University by UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa.

A Brown-lettered Day-UoN 2022 Job Fair

The Office of the Dean of Students and Career Services on Thursday and Friday May 19 and 20, 2022 organized a Job Fair for University of Nairobi Students. The fresh morning was coated with optimism, brown envelopes being waved back and forth as employers and prospective employees gather outside Taifa Hall, Main Campus to kick off the University of Nairobi Students Job Fair 2022.

UNSA Elections 2022 - quick information

On February 17, 2022, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) officially announced that elections for the various Faculty and Campus Students associations will take place virtually on Friday, March 25, 2022. The Commission also released timelines for the recruitment of Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers (find the attached election timelines here).

UoN Hosts inaugural High schools Career Fair & Expo

The University of Nairobi through the Office of the Dean of Students and Career Services in partnership with Higher Education and Industry Partners in Kenya organized a one day Career Fair & Expo at University of Nairobi Main Campus on Friday November 26, 2021 from 9.00am -5.00pm targeting Form 4 High School Students.
