Empowering the Future: Career Mentorship Session for Faculty of Education Students

In an effort to prepare and inspire the next generation of educators, the Office of Career Services organized a career mentorship program for first year students in the Faculty of Education on the afternoon of October 30th, the mentorship session aimed to shed light on the ever evolving job market in the field of education and equip students with the necessary skills and competencies to make them stand out upon graduation.

60 Students Flagged off for an 11-months Internship Program in Israel

The University on Tuesday August 1, 2023 flagged off 60 students set to travel to the Arava region in Israel. The flagging of was held after a thorough pre-departure training for the students. Sixty (60) students from the University of Nairobi have been admitted to the AICAT program for the 2023/2024 intake.

UoN-University of Kent Collaboration

The University of Nairobi, through the Office of the Dean of Students and Career Services opened its doors to staff members from the University of Kent’s Career Office. This was part of an ongoing exchange program between the two institutions under the Erasmus plus funding where staff and students are given a chance to connect engage and share good practices and areas of improvement.

Boychild Empowerment Mentorship Session by the Second Lady of the Republic of Kenya

The University of Nairobi through the Office of the Dean of Students and Career Services hosted Boy Child Mentorship Session at the iconic Taifa Hall on the 2nd of March 2023 under the theme Boy Child Empowerment for a stronger Nation”. Both staff and students showed up in large numbers.

5 UoN students won the Equity Hackathon Competition

5 UoN students participated in a month long Equity Hackathon competition and were crowned winners. Maluki Muthusi and Franklin Bosire were first runners up, Herbet Kimani, 2nd runners up and in position 4, Janet Mugambi and Jude Thaddeus. These students are all 4th year, Bachelor of Science, Computer Science students mentored by Dr. Elisha Abade, a Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Informatics.

A Brown-lettered Day-UoN 2022 Job Fair

The Office of the Dean of Students and Career Services on Thursday and Friday May 19 and 20, 2022 organized a Job Fair for University of Nairobi Students. The fresh morning was coated with optimism, brown envelopes being waved back and forth as employers and prospective employees gather outside Taifa Hall, Main Campus to kick off the University of Nairobi Students Job Fair 2022.
