The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in partnership with the University of Nairobi and Mt. Kenya University are implementing the pilot phase of the Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future (O3 Plus) project promoting health and well-being among students in institutions of higher learning.
The University of Nairobi has reported a reach of 56,000 students in its efforts to implement the (O3 Plus) project pilot phase from October 2021 to December 2021 while Mount Kenya University reached 10,000 students. This was revealed during a 4-day planning workshop that started on Monday, January 24th, 2022 at the Masada Hotel, Naivasha.
The first International Day of Persons with Disabilities celebrations at the University of Nairobi was held on 3rd December 2021 with run up activities held on 1st December and 2nd December 2021. The Celebrations were held in collaboration with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa (OSIEA) and the Kenya Society for the Blind (KSB).
