A Career Talk Organized by the Economics Students Association (ECOSA) took place on March 2, 2022 in Taifa Hall, Main campus. The Career Talk was attended by 180 Students. The theme of the event was "Employability after Covid-19 and exploring the skills-set required in the job market”

Various guests were invited to present on topics related to the theme. The topics discussed are as follows;

  1. The Importance of hands on skills in complementing theories acquired in class presented by Sam Ogola, CEO,DTE Consultancy.
  2. Need for accounting knowledge to economists tackled by George Mwangi, Director, Destiny Technical Training Institute.
  3. Effectiveness of current education system in raising competitive job seekers covered by Joseph Kariga, Deputy Exams Director, KASNEB.
  4. Personal branding presented by Rosehilda Kamanga, Head of Communications, Marketing Society of Kenya.
  5. Role of policy in improving labour market Presented by Kwame Owino, CEO, Institute of Economic Affairs Kenya.

Students gained insight on how to improve their employability in the labour market as well as how to bridge the gap between what is taught in class and what is required in the job market.
