INCLUSIVE AFRICA VIRTUAL CONFERENCE 2020 - PROMOTING DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY IN AFRICA

We are delighted to announce Haben Girma, an American disability rights lawyer of Eritrean descent is a keynote speaker at the Inclusive Africa conference next month. Haben was the first deafblind person to graduate from Harvard Law School and advocates for equal opportunities for people with disabilities. President Obama named her a White House Champion of Change. She received the Helen Keller Achievement Award, and a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. President Bill Clinton, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Chancellor Angela Merkel have all honored Haben.

UoN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE CLASS OF 1970 ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2020/2021

The UoN School of Medicine Class of 1970 Alumni led by Dr. Betty Gikonyo and Dr. Frank Njenga offers five (5) scholarships to bright but needy students in the School of Medicine (MBChB) for the first years who joined the University on 31st August 2020.

UoN RANKED THE BEST HIGHER LEARNING INSTITUTION IN EAST AFRICA

According to the latest July 2020 Webometrics Ranking, University of Nairobi is in the 10th position, 1st in the East African region and 956 in the world. The Webometrics is the largest academic ranking of higher education institutions. In the four parameters considered in this ranking, the UoN is position 198 in the presence rank, 1075 in impact, 749 in the openness rank and 1602 in excellence. Over 30,000 institutions from more than 200 countries.

COVID-19 PREPARATION MEASURES IN READINESS FOR THE 63RD GRADUATION CEREMONY

UoN VC Prof Kiama announced that the University will hold its 63rd graduation ceremony virtually on the 25th September 2020 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic that has crippled social gatherings. All students qualified for PhDs, Masters, Bachelors, Diplomas and fellowships will graduate. The UoN Chief Medical Officer has issued an Infection, Prevention and Control Measures in readiness for the 63rd graduation ceremony. These measures are guidelines to be followed to keep everyone safe. This among many others include:

UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI OFFERING MASTERS SCHOLARSHIPS

The University of Nairobi has advertised 137 scholarships for new Master's students in the upcoming academic year. This applies to eligible applicants who have completed and graduated with an undergraduate degree from the University of Nairobi in the 2018/2019 academic year. They should also possess a first class or second class upper division.
