The University of Nairobi on Thursday July 23, 2020 from 9.00am held a Virtual Inter-Denominational Annual Prayer Day for the year 2020. This is a day set aside for giving thanks to God and seeking for His continued blessings and protection to the University community.

A professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it. This is her story, her quest in alleviating suffering at the grass root level through well wishers and partners. They are mobilizing resources including personnel, material, and finances and accepting kind donation from Kenyans of goodwill.
The Office of the Dean of Students has received numerous requests for support from our needy students to help them cope with life and learning at home during this Covid-19 period. A team from the Office of the Dean of Students met and brainstormed on the various students’ needs, how to meet the needs and how to logistically distribute the support received.
The team identified three key needs that students require support in:

§ Technological needs – smart phones, tablets and laptops for eLearning

According to Google and Telkom Kenya, this is the first balloon-powered internet to launch in Africa and the first non-emergency commercial deployment in the world. It will cover more than 50,000 sq.km of the country with a fleet of 35 balloons as part of the Google Loon project. The Loon service will work by beaming internet connectivity from ground stations to balloons 20km overhead. These balloons are linked to the ground stations that have been connected to Telkom's network.
