The Office of the Dean of students and Career Services appreciates all students who were able to register, join and actively participate in the recently concluded sessions for the Ajira Digital Training both Virtual and Physical. Well done guys! No doubt the skills earned will propel you to greater heights once put into practice. The weeks of vigorous training from February 22, 2021 on basic ICT skills to enable the UoN students make money online from the comfort of their spaces is truly a great achievement.
Ajira Digital is a Government of Kenya programme launched by the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru that is geared towards enhancing youth employment in Kenya through online jobs.
The Dean of Students here at the University of Nairobi, Mr. Johnson Kinyua, congratulated them for resilience until the end. He advised, “Knowledge is what you need to get to your competitive edge, that skill earned now becomes your currency to buy online jobs and that’s exactly what Ajira Digital has given you”. He further explained the management’s commitment to creating working infrastructure through enhanced Wi-Fi with gazebos where the students can work and perfect their skills.
Online work is work, let’s embrace the new normal of digitalization and make a living.
