As part of the initiative to enhance Disability Inclusion, the University of Nairobi Paid a courtesy call visit on March 3, 2022 to the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya to devise ways of mutual collaboration to advance disability inclusion.  The University of Nairobi was represented by Mr. Johnson Kinyua, the Dean of Students and Ms. Mildred Omino, the Disability Liaison Officer. The National Fund for the Disabled was represented by CPA Anthony Muli and Ms. Sharon, the Programs Manager.

The Fund which has been in existence for the last forty years has been impacting lives of Persons with disabilities through their programs on; Provision of Assistive devices and tools of trade, Disability Advocacy, Small grants to Organization of Persons with Disabilities and implementation of Flagship projects to Institutions serving Persons with disabilities. The University shared the ongoing work on disability inclusion which entails the collection of disaggregated data on students and staff with disabilities, provision of disability support services to students and staff with disabilities and proposed establishment of the Disability Support Center.

The Institutions shall collaborate in programs of mutual interest such as provision of Assistive Devices, creating disability awareness, advocacy on disability inclusion amongst others to advance the common agenda of promoting disability inclusion.
