Students Sensitized on Disability Inclusion in Students Leadership and Governance

The Disability Liaison Office and the Central Administration Disability Mainstreaming Committee conducted a Seminar to build capacity of Students with disabilities on disability Inclusion in Students Leadership and Governance on February 10, 2022. The training brought together a total of 57 students with disabilities drawn from all the ten Faculties and Kisumu Campus.

Facilitators delivered presentations on topical issues including; Advocacy on participation of students with disability in Students Leadership and Governance, UNSA constitutional provisions on rights and welfare of students with disabilities, revitalization of UoN Students with Disabilities Association and support services available at the Office of Dean of Students.

Students with disabilities shared their Campus Life Experiences including the opportunities and challenges that they navigated on a daily basis. They unanimously agreed to revitalize the University of Nairobi Students with Disabilities Association to serve as their Unified Voice as well as to participate in the UNSA elections both at Council level and at Faculty and Campuses level.
