UNIVERSITIES TO CONTINUE ONLINE LEARNING

President Uhuru Kenyatta in his national address on Monday 26th July 2020, pronounced that Universities and Colleges institutions will reopen in January 2021 thus revoking an earlier announcement that higher learning institutions will reopen in September 2020. The Ministry of Education in response to this has released a press statement on 30th Thursday July 2020 after a meeting with its key stakeholders.

UHURU'S MADARAKA DAY SPEECH HINT

Kenya celebrated Madaraka day celebrations 57 years for the first time indoors and virtually. President Uhuru Kenyatta gave his speech again for the first time from State house that was given live coverage as Kenyans followed from home. The president said that in the coming days he will address the nation on matters going forward amidst the increasing positive cases on covid-19.

WILSON SOSSION ONE SIDE, MINISTRY OF EDUCATION THE OTHER SIDE

KNUT Chair Wilson Sossion says that with the increasing COVID-19 positive cases, all learning institutions to remain closed with the KCPE and KCSE the national examinations rescheduled to 2021. The Ministry of education on the other hand insists on not postponing the exams, CS Matiangi says the questions set will only cover what the learners have covered before the outbreak of COVID-19 in Kenya, followed immediately thereafter with closure of schools disrupting the traditional method of learning.
