KNUT Chair Wilson Sossion says that with the increasing COVID-19 positive cases, all learning institutions to remain closed with the KCPE and KCSE the national examinations rescheduled to 2021. The Ministry of education on the other hand insists on not postponing the exams, CS Matiangi says the questions set will only cover what the learners have covered before the outbreak of COVID-19 in Kenya, followed immediately thereafter with closure of schools disrupting the traditional method of learning.

WORKERS UNIONS IN PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES HEADED FOR A CLASH

Workers’ unions in public universities are headed for a clash with the management of the learning institutions.

The unions on Wednesday told their members to reject the half pay proposal by the universities.

Universities Academic Staff Union (Uasu), National Secretary-General Constantine Wasonga said the union will not accept 60 per cent salary for the month of April.
