WILSON SOSSION ONE SIDE, MINISTRY OF EDUCATION THE OTHER SIDE

KNUT Chair Wilson Sossion says that with the increasing COVID-19 positive cases, all learning institutions to remain closed with the KCPE and KCSE the national examinations rescheduled to 2021. The Ministry of education on the other hand insists on not postponing the exams, CS Matiangi says the questions set will only cover what the learners have covered before the outbreak of COVID-19 in Kenya, followed immediately thereafter with closure of schools disrupting the traditional method of learning. Universities Academic Staff and Kenya Human Rights Commission also echo their sentiments in support of schools not reopening now maybe at a later date when the country has kicked out the virus or flattened the curve.

Sossion felt that the children should stay and home and stay safe then be sent to school and die. He prefers the students repeating the year. CS Magoha has no dates for the school reopening.
