UON TAKES PART IN THE JUBILEE GROUP JOB SHADOW MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

In partnership with the Office of the dean of students and Career Service, Jubilee Holdings hosted a one day career mentorship on the 28th of July  2022 from 8am to 5pm. The career mentorship, hosted at the Jubilee Insurance Head Office, Wabera Street, 8th floor, saw the attendance of 14 students from the University of Nairobi among many other students from different universities.

7 UON STUDENTS HIKE MT.KENYA TO RAISE AWARENESS ON THE O3 PLUS HEALTH AND WELLBEING YOUTH PROGRAM

Much enthusiasm filled Taifa Hall Auditorium at the University of Nairobi’s main campus as the Office of the Dean of Students and Careers Services hosted the launch of the O3 plus program and the flag off of the O3 Plus wellness hike to Mt.Kenya on Wednesday the 13th of July. The event that saw the attendance of students from both the University of Nairobi and Mount Kenya University is a joint initiative of the University of Nairobi, Mount Kenya University and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

5 UoN students won the Equity Hackathon Competition

Friday, May 20, 2022

5 UoN students participated in a month long Equity Hackathon competition and were crowned winners. Maluki Muthusi and Franklin Bosire were first runners up, Herbet Kimani, 2nd runners up and in position 4, Janet Mugambi and Jude Thaddeus. These students are all 4th year, Bachelor of Science, Computer Science students mentored by Dr. Elisha Abade, a Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Informatics.

Changing the Food Security Narrative in Kenya through the AICAT Program

The Office of the Dean of Students and Career Services on Monday May 23 2022 held an orientation session followed by interviews for 94 shortlisted Faculty of Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine and Biosystems Engineering Students out of 174 received expressions of interest. The orientation session was held at MLT 401 at the UoN Towers, 4th Floor and was attended by University of Nairobi and Kenya Water Institute students shortlisted for the AICAT Program.

ALX presents the Africa Career Catalyst Programme

ALX has just launched the Africa Career Catalyst (ACC), a rigorous 5-week, fully digital programme that equips you with the skills, mindsets and tools you need to land a job: from how to overcome self-defeating mindsets like fixed mindsets or impostor syndrome, to professional skills like interviewing, networking and cover-letter writing. 

Mangu High School Career Guidance session and Tour

The Office of the Dean of students and career Services on Wednesday February 16, 2022 hosted 50 students from Mang'u High School for a Career Guidance session and tour at the Faculties of Engineering and Health Sciences.

The UoN Office of Career Services has therefore been mandated to engage High School students offering them career advice and also recruiting them to consider joining the University. This entails;

APPLY FOR THE FRENCH LANGUAGE ASSISTANTS 2021-2022 PROGRAM (DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION 8th JANUARY 2021)

To All UoN French Students-In 2019-2020, the University of Nairobi and other Kenyan Universities sent 66 French Language Assistants to France to teach English in French High School for at least 7 months following the bilateral agreement between President Uhuru Kenyatta and President Emmanuel Macron of France when he visited Kenya in March 2019.
