Chaos was centered around Maringo area, where an irate mob of youth cordoned off the road by burning tyres in protest. Universities Academic Staff Union (Uasu), National Secretary-General Constantine Wasonga said the union will not accept 60 per cent salary for the month of April.

Governors have asked the state to include counties ravaged by floods and the desert locust invasion in the national government's plan for economic recovery.

Council of Governors chairman Wycliffe Oparanya said he will meet President Uhuru Kenyatta on behalf of the affected counties.

The government is currently looking into how to restore the economy after the damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The education sector was the first to suffer from the coronavirus pandemic when President Kenyatta ordered all learning institutions to close after the first case of the disease was confirmed in the country. Weeks later, schools that had adequate infrastructure resulted in teaching their learners online using different web conferencing facilities.

The University of Nairobi multidisciplinary team of engineers and doctors have developed a home grown portable ventilator that will reduce the cost of the current ventilators by nearly  90% .  

The University of Nairobi's is conducting an assessment on Kenyans understanding and level of interaction with vaccines. Further, we are trying to understand the level of knowledge of the Corona Virus in Kenya as part of the research process.
