UoN VC Prof Kiama announced that the University will hold its 63rd graduation ceremony virtually on the 25th September 2020 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic that has crippled social gatherings. All students qualified for PhDs, Masters, Bachelors, Diplomas and fellowships will graduate. The UoN Chief Medical Officer has issued an Infection, Prevention and Control Measures in readiness for the 63rd graduation ceremony. These measures are guidelines to be followed to keep everyone safe. This among many others include:

All Ugandans aged six years and above will be given free face masks in a bid to protect themselves against the coronavirus, President Yoweri Museveni has said. “This mask must be worn all the time when you are in public. Whether you are sneezing, talking or coughing. Since many people raised the issue that they cannot afford these masks, the government has decided to provide these masks to all Ugandans (aged) six years and above,” Mr Museveni said in a televised address.

We are facing a public health crisis that has never been witnessed before in the history of the modern world.  Like a whirlwind, Covid-19 struck the world so fast no one seems to understand what it is that is happening.  In a single, ominous strike COVID-19 has killed thousands, shut down economies, rendered millions jobless and overseen closure of schools. Practically, COVID-19 has completely disrupted all spheres of our lives in ways we couldn’t ever have imagined before.
