The University of Nairobi’s Office of the Dean of Students and Career Services on October 6, 2022, paid the Kisumu Campus a courtesy visit. The team was comprised of Mr. Johnson Kinyua Ireri, the Dean of Students, Lucy Gikundi, Deputy Dean of Students and Naomi Nyaboga, Head of Section, Career Services. The meeting was held at Kisumu Campus from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The meeting created a great opportunity for the new Associate Dean, Prof. Charles Rambo to meet staff from the Office of the Dean of Students and be brought up to speed with the mandate of the Office. The main agenda for the visit was to discuss student welfare issues and the UNESCO O3 plus project activities in Kisumu Campus with the Management, student Leaders and students present in the TownHall meeting.
The team from the Dean of Students Office and Kisumu Campus Management held a townhall event with the students to discuss student welfare issues at the Kisumu Campus and thereafter implement a well outlined way forward for the future activities concerning the campus. The meeting created collective approach where both staff and students were involved in the active consultations and decision making of the activities to be implemented on campus.
As the meeting came to a close, the campus Governor, Humphrey Kirui thanked the team from the Office of the Dean of Students for their visit and their continued support of the students of Kisumu Campus. He looked forward to working together to improve student welfare on campus.
