MEASURES TAKEN FOR SCHOOL RE-OPENING

Schools might be reopening in two and half months time (September) and according to CS Prof Magoha, he felt confident that the preparations in place to check the spread of Covid-19 among learners were sufficient. The Education Ministry still has ongoing consultation on the academic calendar year more so on the school exams. Prof Magoha requested that board of management should support governmental efforts to create a safe,conducive environment for the students upon school resumption. These efforts include:

• Hand sanitizers provision, two washable face masks for each pupil to reduce the spread of infections;
• Staggering learning in schools with huge enrollment to avoid over crowding in classes.

A public participation process will be conducted before the final decision of reopening schools for the learners.
