Kenya Science Students Offered Career Mentorship

The Office of Career Services organized a work-readiness Career Clinic for Kenya Science Campus students on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at NLT Hall, Kenya Science Campus. Over 150 students attended the career clinic.

The Work-Readiness Career Clinic aimed to support education students in developing the professional skills and confidence needed for a successful transition into the workforce. The clinic provided tailored career guidance, hands-on role-play sessions, and networking opportunities to bridge the gap between academic preparation and professional employment.

The main objectives of the career clinic were to equip students with essential career readiness skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, and job search strategies; Provide mentorship opportunities through collaboration with experienced educators and industry professionals; Offer hands-on skills on professional conduct and requisite soft skills in the world of work; Foster networking and professional development through industry partners

An interactive Panel Discussion by Teach of Kenya was held on Leadership, impact in Education, and their collaboration with schools and educational organizations to support public schools in addressing some of the challenges they face. Teach for Kenya also offered information about their two-year fellowship program that attaches graduates to schools to offer support in the areas where the schools require help.

This session met its objectives, the Office of Career Services looks forward to coordinating more work-readiness sessions for students in an effort to prepare them for exit to the world of work.
