JASIRI Talent Investor is a fully funded 1-year program that will guide program participants from idea generation, validation, prototyping, market entry to venture creation. 

JASIRI Talent Investor program will introduce aspiring entrepreneurs to equally ambitious co-founders and will support them on individual, team, and business levels. 

JASIRI Talent Investor Program is aligned with Kenya’s Vision 2030 focused on job creation; our contribution to growing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the continent; with emphasis on market-creating innovations.

Application for the JASIRI Talent Investor closes this Friday 19th February 2021.  So far we have received a good number of applications. Nonetheless, we will highly appreciate your assistance in encouraging more female candidates to apply; candidates in the diaspora i.e. Kenyan and Rwandans living abroad; and candidates with exceptional skills.

The office of the DVC RIE brings to your attention a planned virtual symposium on Enhancing Knowledge Transfer and Exchange in African HE and Research hosted jointly by the University of Glasgow and the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA).

The symposium programme will comprise of keynote lectures from European and African Industry and Higher Education representatives as well as interactive breakout rooms aligned to the themes of ARUA’s 13 Centres of Excellence.

Virtual symposium on enhancing knowledge transfer

 

The Office of the Dean of Students and Career Services is partnering with the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology through the Ajira Digital Program to train students on online work.

The Ajira Digital Program is a Government initiative driven by the Ministry of ICT to empower over one million young people to access digital job opportunities. The program seeks to position Kenya as a labour destination for multinational companies as well as encourage local companies and the public sector to create digital work.

So far, over 4,000 UoN students have undergone the training and are part of the Ajira Digital Club.

 A training has been organized for interested students from February 22 to March 5, 2021.

Ajira Digital

Study and Career Consulting Group is looking for energetic and self-motivated undergraduate students at any level who have not yet graduated to be their campus coordinators starting in March 2021. This is a part-time position that is flexible and only requires a few hours a day. The selected students will work from their current campuses in their respective home countries. The positions are open to college and university students from any African country. Ideally, they are seeking one campus coordinator per college or university campus.

Stipend

The successful Campus Coordinators will receive a modest monthly stipend plus bonus.

Responsibilities

§  Represent SCCG and ‘MyFutureApp’ at the campus level

§  Mobilize students to participate in our services including articles contribution for our monthly magazine

§  Help source for highly ranked professional speakers for our virtual career development sessions

§  Help with the planning and hosting of physical or virtual events

§  Participate in our regular meetings alongside other coordinators from other campuses

Requirements

§  Current student at 1st – 4th year of undergraduate studies pursuing any degree program

§  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

§  Social and outgoing personality

§  Strong marketing skills

§  Team player

§  Influencer
