Youth Economic Empowerment: Creating a Saving Culture

The Office of the Dean of Students and Career Services in partnership with Universities and Colleges Students' Peace Association of Kenya (UCSPAK) and the Youth Enterprise Fund on Friday October 21, 2022 hosted a Youth Economic Empowerment Forum dubbed ‘Jisort Youth Economic Empowerment’.

This 5 year Youth Empowerment project is aimed at inspiring the youth to create employment opportunities for themselves and fellow youth. The session also encouraged a saving culture among the youth and promoted the sharpening of the skills of the youth for formal or informal employment with a focus on the digital and creative economy.

In attendance were Naomi Nyaboga, Section Head, Office of Career Services, Allan Chacha, Executive Director, UCSPAK, Cleophas Odhiambo, Youth Enterprise Fund and Elvis Wambura from the Parliamentary Caucus for Young Parliamentarians.

This was the third Youth Empowerment Forum with the first having been held at Mt. Kenya University and the Second at the Technical University of Kenya (TUK).
