On Thursday, May 15-16, 2025, Oppo Kenya held a comprehensive campus recruitment drive. The campus career fair and recruitment took place at the University of Nairobi, Main Campus and brought together students from different faculties and universities, hopeful for an opportunity to land an internship or a job.
An information session was held at Taifa Hall to share insights about the company and its culture, with the main objective of the visit being recruitment. The event kicked off with a short introduction showcasing OPPO’s journey, from an electronics company to a global tech leader known for innovation, sleek design, and youth-focused branding. The session also emphasized the company's vision of empowering youth through technology, and the Head of HR gave practical tips on what OPPO looks for in new hires. “We’re not just hiring degrees,” she said, “we’re looking for thinkers, problem-solvers, and brand ambassadors.”.
The OPPO representatives organized brief one-on-one interview sessions for potential candidates as the students dropped their CVs at the booths. The process was transparent, and students appreciated the professionalism with which it was handled. As the day wound down, students who dropped their CVs were a step closer to becoming part of the global brand.
For the University of Nairobi students, the OPPO on Campus event was more than just an information session, it was a real opportunity to step into the world of work. And for those who showed up, it might just be the beginning of a very exciting career.
