Kili Rover Scouts Crew Inspires Thousands at Kenya Scouts National Educational Camp

From 2nd to 5th August 2025, the University of Nairobi’s Kili Rover Scouts Crew proudly represented the institution at the Kenya Scouts National Educational Camp held at the Rowallan Scouts Camp, where they engaged with over 5,000 young people from across the country.

The Crew showcased student-led initiatives that address some of the most pressing challenges in our communities:

Scouts and Law – A program aimed at rehabilitating juveniles and reintegrating them into society as responsible and empowered individuals.

Sprouting Green – An environmental education and restoration campaign that equips young people with the knowledge and skills to secure a greener future.

Scouts for Gender-Based Violence and Mental Health Awareness – An initiative to increase awareness on GBV and promote mental well-being.

GROVE – A project focused on raising awareness and mitigating the harmful effects of heavy metals in soils.

Through exhibitions, demonstrations, and discussions, the Kili Rover Scouts Crew not only shared their passion for service but also highlighted how the University of Nairobi has empowered them with the knowledge, skills, and leadership needed to implement such impactful programs.

They emphasized how academic learning, scouting values, and community service work hand in hand to create a better world and prepare young people for life beyond campus. The experience was both an opportunity to educate and a platform to inspire proving that when young people are equipped with the right tools and values, they can become powerful agents of change in their communities
