Erasmus Day Study in Europe Career Fair

The University of Nairobi in collaboration with the European Union hosted the Erasmus Day Study in Europe fair on the 13th of October 2022 at the University's Main Campus, Taifa hall from 9 am.

The study in Europe fair attracted major organizations that facilitate students travel and study abroad such as DAAD, Campus France and other facilitators from European nations such as Sweden, Italy, Hungary and many others.

The Erasmus day career fair was a sensitization event that was aimed at creating student awareness on the various programs offered by the various nations that facilitate their study abroad. The facilitators each touched on the degree programs offered, the cost of their programs and the requirements for students who wanted to study abroad.

The sensitization session was later followed by a one on one session where students and facilitators could interact in the various booths set up, just outside Taifa Hall.

Mr. Johnson Kinyua, the Dean of Students, addressed the students emphasizing the need for them to explore new cultures and people. He explained the importance of this as a chance for students to interact, share and learn ideas while discovering the hidden gems of life from new experiences and people.

Mr. Johnson highlighted the importance of becoming a global citizen through travel and listed the important items required to achieve this and rank an individual from the rest of the professional world as; a passport, mastery of a foreign language

A driver’s license, an outstanding CV and an equally professional and exceptional LinkedIn and social media presence. The students seemed very intrigued by this and vowed to begin preparing themselves for global citizenship by accomplishing the mentioned requirements. The Dean concluded the session by emphasizing the need to start the professional journey as early as first year, after all is it not the early bird that catches the worm...
