The International Wheelchair Day is commemorated annually around the World on 1st March to celebrate the positive impact a wheelchair has on the lives of wheelchair users. The day is dedicated to celebrate the great work of people who provide wheelchairs, support and care for wheelchair users and make the World a better and more accessible place for people with mobility disabilities.
Kenya will be marking the fourth International Wheelchair Day Celebrations on Tuesday March 1, 2022. The celebrations will be held at the University of Nairobi’s Graduation Square from 8 a.m.
Key activities include a procession, Exhibitions and Keynote Speeches. The Vice Chancellor and Principal Secretaries from the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Gender will grace the celebrations.
