UoN-AICAT collaboration – unlocking Food Security challenge

The University of Nairobi in collaboration with the Arava International Centre for Agricultural Training (AICAT) has been running an annual internship program targeting Agriculture students for a period of 11 months. The center trains over 1,000 students annually from Academic Institutes in countries from mostly Africa and Asia.

UoN and Huawei renew Partnership Agreement to build a Critical Mass of ICT Professionals

In an MOU signed on 29th July, 2022 between UoN and Huawei, UoN became the Center of Huawei Technology skills Transfer for all the academies in Kenya, through which it will provide support to the Huawei ICT Academy in Kenya.UoN will support Huawei ICT Academies on boarding process and daily operations by providing Huawei authorized courses and tools as well as other Huawei resources.


The courses provided are Huawei Certified ICT Associate, Huawei Certified ICT Professional, and Huawei Certified ICT Expert.

UON TAKES PART IN THE JUBILEE GROUP JOB SHADOW MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

In partnership with the Office of the dean of students and Career Service, Jubilee Holdings hosted a one day career mentorship on the 28th of July  2022 from 8am to 5pm. The career mentorship, hosted at the Jubilee Insurance Head Office, Wabera Street, 8th floor, saw the attendance of 14 students from the University of Nairobi among many other students from different universities.

The Office of the Dean of Students and Career Services played host to Junior Achievement Kenya and their collaborators Corporate Moves Africa at the University of Nairobi’s Skill Center, Education Building Room ED 213 where the Work Readiness Program for the Google Scholarship Course  participants was held. The training which was set for the 19th of July 2022, begun at 11 am to 3pm attracting an audience of 36 students from the University of Nairobi among many other Universities.

7 UON STUDENTS HIKE MT.KENYA TO RAISE AWARENESS ON THE O3 PLUS HEALTH AND WELLBEING YOUTH PROGRAM

Much enthusiasm filled Taifa Hall Auditorium at the University of Nairobi’s main campus as the Office of the Dean of Students and Careers Services hosted the launch of the O3 plus program and the flag off of the O3 Plus wellness hike to Mt.Kenya on Wednesday the 13th of July. The event that saw the attendance of students from both the University of Nairobi and Mount Kenya University is a joint initiative of the University of Nairobi, Mount Kenya University and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

It is with great festivity and pomp that the University of Nairobi marked the launch of the University of Nairobi Foundation at an exquisite dinner party hosted at the University’s famous Great Courts on the evening of the 30th of July. The dinner whose sole intention was to mark the inception of the University of Nairobi Foundation was set to commence at 1730 hours with an exhilarating performance from the University of Nairobi Band.
