Peace Ambassadors Kenya (PAK) is a national youths’ initiative drawn from institutions of higher learning and the administration police Kenya. In University of Nairobi, the organization is registered as a chapter under the Dean of Students as Peace Ambassadors Kenya: University of Nairobi (PAK: UoN). The organization works towards peace themed activities in the country and also in higher learning institutions.        

The Chairman led a team of four PAK members after a privileged invitation to participate in Environmental Conservation Training duped “Achieving Peace Through Environmental Conservation “ which took place on 25th and 26th April at African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW); Giraffe Centre.   In the words of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Prof. Wangari Maathai “If we destroy nature today, nature will destroy us in the future”.  It  is  in  this  regard  PAK seized the opportunity to participate in the activity, which  run  under  The  Green  Print  Project PAK National Secretariat; with  the  aim  of  incorporating  Environment Conservation and  Preservation skills  and,  awareness .

The event Incorporated active ways in which youths can participate on Environmental Conservation, as sustainable peace cannot be attained without Conservation of the environment. The event which was a Training of Trainers events attracted club leaders of the various PAK chapters in the institutions of higher learning in Kenya. We also engaged on equality awareness and a visit to Reuben Center to learn on practical ways of effective utilization on resources especially horticulture, proper disposal methods and most importantly the techniques of adopting renewable energy resources where we learnt of briquette making.
