Position Available

Global Partners for Development seeks a qualified, committed, communicative, and energetic Community Facilitator to help fulfill its mission in Kenya. The Community Facilitatorwill be an independent contractor for GPFD and will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating community engagement meetings and trainings in westernKenya. The Facilitator will also be responsible for vetting, implementation, and evaluation for projects in the area. The Facilitator will report to the Director of Programs in the United States as well as the Country Coordinator in Kenya.

Key Competencies and Requirements:

  • Candidates must have significant experience reading, writing, and speaking in English as well as Swahili.
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Project Planning and Management, Social work or other related Fields.  Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • At least three years of relevant experience working in a field related to the required duties.


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate community meetings and trainings associated with Global Partners projects.
  • Have the ability to communicate at least twice a week with the Director of Programs and Evaluation in the USA and the Country Coordinator via email and/or Skype.
  • Supportthe Country Coordinator as well as local engineers and contractors to assist in budget creation and project implementation for projects in Kenya.
  • Assist the Country Coordinator with monitoring and evaluation of GPFD projects in Kenya.
  • Help ensure that all projects are purely community-driven and are not influenced by anything except local community will.
  • Have the ability to listen to community needs and solutions without inserting your own opinions.


The Facilitator should be willing to live in Kendu Bay area of Kenya during his/her consultancy, with time to time engagement with Country coordinator’s office in Oyugis.
